With its twisting, scaly body and enormous jaw, the Nile Crocodile is easily one of the more frightening-looking creatures of Africa. Scientifically known as Crocodylus niloticus, these ferocious reptiles are considered carnivores, devouring everything from fish and lizards to small mammals. Males can grow up to fourteen feet in length, while females usually reach a max of twelve feet. On average, they will live for about 50 to 60 years.
