For the obverse of 2023 1 oz Equilibrium Silver Coins, the Public Seal of Niue is featured. Here, there is an inner circle decorated with various plants found in Niue. Surrounding this circle is a band of garland, which symbolizes the 14 villages of Niue. The seal also contains a crown as the crest, which represents its allegiance to the sovereign government and Great Britain. The obverse also contains inscriptions of the denomination, issuing country, and year of release.
For the reverse of 2023 1 oz Niue Equilibrium Silver Coins, there is a depiction of the yin and yang symbol. This iconic design depicts a circle divided by a dark and light half. Each half also contains a small circle of its opposite shade, which indicates its complementary nature. Inscriptions on the reverse read Equilibrium, 1 oz .9999 Fine Silver.
Pressburg Mint is part of a minting tradition dating back over 2,000 years. Near 50 BC, Celtic tribes began minting coins in the region that today is called Bratislava. Then, around 1000 AD, the first official Pressburg mints were established for use by the Austro-Hungarian Empire. By 1430, Pressburg had become the empire’s financial center, a position it would hold for nearly four centuries.
