King Charles III is on the obverse side of the 2023 1/2 oz British Britannia Coin. For the first time, someone other than the Queen is seen on the obverse. Designed by Martin Jennings, the King is seen without a crown surrounded by identifying marks of the coin.

Britannia is on the reverse field of the 2023 British Gold Britannia Coin. This Philip Nathan design shows Britannia in front-facing relief, looking to the left. Britannia is seen holding a trident in one hand and the Union Jack shield in the other.
