Among the American Gold Eagle Coins from the United States Mint, the 1/2 oz gold coin is the second largest option and the largest of the fractional-ounce gold coins. The series has been available in the BU range since 1986, with all four weights offered every year since then. Today, certified 2023 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
In 1986, the Gold Eagles from the United States Mint debuted in BU and Proof versions. This first release year included 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz BU Gold Eagles and a 1 oz Proof Gold Eagle. Since then, fractional-ounce Proof Gold Eagles have been introduced and Burnished Gold Eagles.
All of these 2023 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coins feature a Mint State 69 certification from the NGC. Coins in this condition have full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor detracting flaws such as minuscule contact marks or hairlines. The included Early Release label indicates the coins arrived at the NGC for certification within the first 30 days of the US Mint’s release of Gold Eagles.
On the obverse of 2023 American Gold Eagle Coins, you will find a depiction of Lady Liberty. Designed in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, this vision of Liberty in front-facing relief originally on the $20 Gold Double Eagle from 1907 to 1933.
The reverse side of the 2023 1/2 oz Gold Eagle Coin comes with a vision of the American bald eagle. This new image of the eagle was created in 2020 by Jennie Norris and introduced to the series in mid-2021.
