A tiger is seen on the obverse of the 2023 South Korean Tiger Gold Medallion. Each medallion in the overarching series features a unique depiction of a tiger. This release features a tiger on the right side of the medallion with the Homigot Lighthouse on the left. Identifying marks of the medallion can also be seen.
The reverse side of the 2023 1/10 oz Tiger Gold Medallion showcases a stylized version of the Korean peninsula. This unique depiction displays the peninsula made from letters of the Korean alphabet. The Taegeuk is also seen while a security device is also present on this side.
Each 2023 1/10 oz South Korean Tiger Gold Medallion will arrive in a sealed assay card. The obverse field of the assay card features a colorized depiction of the Homigot Lighthouse along with the right hand of coexistence emerging from the sea. The reverse of the assay card displays a winter scene along with essential information about the medallion.
The Siberian tiger remains the national animal of the country, despite the fact that there are no longer any wild tigers left in the South Korean wild.
