The Proof American Gold Eagle Series is the first choice among collectors of modern American gold bullion coins. Introduced by the United States Mint in 1986, the Proof Gold Eagle Series offers four weights that were rolled out across three years between 1986 and 1988. The Proof American Gold Eagle Series debuted in 1986, but followed a different rollout than the BU Gold Eagle. The Proof Gold Eagle started in 1986 with the 1 oz gold coin, expanded in 1987 with the 1/2 oz gold coin, and continued in 1988 with the 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz gold coins.
All of these 2022-W 1/4 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you for purchase in near-perfect condition. PR69 coins have full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detractions. Coins at this grade level have only minuscule contact marks or hairlines present, but these must be outside the primary focal points of the coin.
On the obverse of 2022 1/4 oz Proof Gold Eagle Coins, you will find Lady Liberty. Designed in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, this visual shows Liberty in front-facing relief as she strides forward carrying a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left.
The reverse field of the 2022-W 1/4 oz Proof Gold Eagle comes with Jennie Norris’ latest effigy of the eagle. Designed in 2020, this image of a bald eagle’s head debuted on the coins in this series in mid-2021.
