An American bald eagle design is found in the reverse of the 2022-W Proof American Gold Eagle Coin. The design found here was created in 2020 by Jennie Norris and debuted on the American Gold Eagle Coins in 2021 with the release of Type 2 versions of the coins. This new design shows the head of the bald eagle in left-profile relief in a close-up depiction of the aerial predator.
