In 1986, the United States Mint issued the first-ever American Gold Eagle. Today, American Gold Eagle Coins come in 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold weights in the BU and Proof collections, with an additional 1 oz gold coin available in the Burnished Series. In 2022, the 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagle is limited in mintage to 24,000 coins in total, with just 14,000 of those coins available in individual packaging.
The obverse of the 2022-W Proof American Gold Eagle Coin features a portrait of Lady Liberty. This depiction of Liberty is set in front-facing relief with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The field includes the U.S. Capitol Building at her feet, sun rays on the horizon behind her, and a ring of stars around the field.
On the reverse side of 2022-W 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagles is an effigy of the American bald eagle. This new design from Jennie Norris features the head of an American bald eagle in left-profile relief with incredible layers of detail on the image of the eagle.
These 2022-W 1/10 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coins come with individual plastic capsules. The coins are shipped in presentation boxes and come with a themed shipper and Certificate of Authenticity. Each coin has frosted designs with mirrored background fields.
