Each year, the United States Mint issues its American Gold Eagle Coins in four weights in the BU and Proof collections. The smallest weight available is often the best-seller in the series, with the 1/10 oz gold coin holding several single-year mintage records in the BU and Proof collections. Today, 2022-W 1/10 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you online from JM Bullion in perfect condition.
Coin Highlights:
In mid-2021, the United States Mint introduced the first-ever design change in the history of the American Gold Eagle Series. This new design from Jennie Norris was introduced in July 2021 as part of the 35th anniversary of the series. In 2022, the original design from Miley Busiek is fully retired and has now been permanently replaced by the new bald eagle image created in 2020 by Ms. Norris.
All of the 2022-W 1/10 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coins available here at JM Bullion come in perfect condition. These coins are PF70 specimens and have full, original mint luster with no detractions of any kind present on the coins. UCAM stands for ultra-cameo proof and refers to coins with strong, frosted designs and deeply-mirrored, clear fields. Early Release specimens are those that were received for grading within 30 days of release from the US Mint.
On the obverse of 2022 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagle Coins is an image of Lady Liberty. Designed in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, this image was first used on the $20 Gold Double Eagle Coin and shows Liberty’s front-facing relief as she walks forward carrying a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left.
The reverse side of the 2022-W Proof American Gold Eagle Coin comes with a depiction of the American bald eagle. This new design from Jennie Norris debuted in mid-2021 and shows the head of the eagle in left-profile relief as it gazes off into the distance with its keen eyesight.
