The 2022 release of Proof Chinese Gold Pandas includes limited mintage figures across four weights. The coins, in keeping with the new practice of Gram-based weights, include options ranging from just above 1 Troy oz to 32.15 Troy oz. These coins include this 50 Gram gold coin, as well as 100 Gram, 150 Gram, and 1 Kilogram options.
All of the 2022 50 Gram Proof Chinese Gold Panda Coins available here are in protective capsules from the mint. The coin and capsule are set in a wooden box for display purposes, and come with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Chinese Mint. As a proof coin, each one has frosted design elements and mirrored fields.
On the obverse of 2022 Proof Chinese Gold Panda Coins is an image of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This building is part of the Taoist religious site at the Temple of Heaven Complex. The building was constructed between 1406 and 1420, and its image has appeared on the obverse of the Gold Pandas since 1982.
The reverse side of the 2022 50 Gram Proof Gold Panda comes with a new design of the Giant Panda. This year’s design shows two pandas sliding down a hill, one on its stomach and the other on its back. This face of the coin has a 40th-anniversary privy mark with the digits 40 and a panda in the zero.
