The story of the Faerie Queene begins with the heroine Una and a knight known as Redcrosse traveling the countryside as the knight takes on a monster known as Errour. They are then separated by the scheming wizard Archimago and embark on their own perilous adventures. Eventually, they are united and the story builds to a stunning crescendo wherein Redcrosse defeats a fearsome dragon.

On the obverse of 2022 Proof Silver Faerie Queene Coins is the 2015 effigy of Queen Elizabeth by the artist Jody Clark. The beautiful design shows the queen in right-profile relief with the Royal Diamond Diadem crown that she wore during her Coronation. The coin’s hallmarks are included along the border.

The reverse field of the St. Helena Silver Faerie Queene Coin depicts Una imploring the Redcrosse Knight to rescue her parents from the dragon. She is shown on the ground while he appears on horseback with armor, shield, and spear. In the distance we see the castle, while the dragon looms dangerously overhead. Inscribed along the edges are the words The Faerie Queene.
