In honor of the 40th anniversary of the Chinese Panda, the Chinese Mint has taken a number of steps to celebrate the occasion. The most notable to regular fans of this series is the inclusion of a 40th-anniversary privy mark on the reverse of all gold and silver bullion coins in the series. As always, there is a new reverse design available this year as well. One of the true standouts of the 2022 release is the first-ever strike of platinum coins in the series. The Chinese Mint is offering limited-issue 30 Gram and 1 Gram platinum coins for 2022.
All of these 2022 30 Gram Chinese Platinum Panda Coins are available to purchase in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The Chinese Mint offers each platinum coin individually packaged in a presentation box. The platinum coins have the same obverse and reverse designs as the gold and silver coins, with the 40th-anniversary privy included as well.
On the obverse of 2022 Chinese Platinum Panda Coins is a depiction of the exterior of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This building is the main structure within the broader Temple of Heaven Complex and was built between 1406 and 1420 in the south-central neighborhoods of Beijing.
The reverse side of the 2022 30 Gram Platinum Panda Coins comes with the new depiction of the Giant Panda. This year’s design includes two pandas in the snow. The duo is sliding down a snowy hill in a playful design that captures one on its stomach going down head first, while the other is on its back and going down feet first.
