In 2021, the East India Company expanded the BU options in the popular Una and the Lion series of silver coins for sale. For the first time ever, it released a 2 oz silver BU coin in the collection. Coin Highlights:
In 1839, the Royal Mint introduced a new coin design for its 5 Pound gold coin. This commemorative issue featured the image of Queen Victoria as the character of Lady Una from the poem The Faerie Queene. The design was groundbreaking for the Royal Mint, at the time, as it was the first time a monarch had been depicted as a mythical figure.
All of the 2022 2 oz St. Helena Silver Una and the Lion Coins available here come in protective plastic capsules. This is just the second issue of the 2 oz silver bullion coin in the series and each one comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
On the obverse of 2022 St. Helena Silver Una and the Lion Coins, you will find the image of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in a right-profile relief that was developed in 2015 for the Royal Mint by Jody Clark. The Queen is aged 89 in this design and wears the George IV State Diadem Crown.
The reverse side of 2022 2 oz Silver Una and the Lion Coins comes with the latest effigy of Una and the Lion. This year’s design sets the two characters in seated positions facing one another. The two gaze at each other in this design as the sun silhouettes the head of Una.
