The Guardians featured in the Zi:Sin Series are meant to correspond with the animals featured in the lunar calendar. For the sixth release in the series, the stealthy Tigris is featured. This mighty guardian is congruous with the lunar tiger and even can be seen with tattoos that resemble tiger stripes. This series began in 2017 and will conclude when all 12 Guardians have been featured. Next up in the series is Lepus, which is scheduled for an initial release in 2023.
The obverse of 2022 South Korean Zi:Sin Tigris Silver Medals features the Doggaebi. This mythical creature is popular in South Korean folktales and is known for his ability to ward off evil spirits. On the reverse of 2022 10 oz South Korean Zi:Sin Silver Medals the Guardian Tigris is featured. Here, we see Tigris stealthily navigating rocky terrain as he holds his sacred halberd.
