The first Street Fighter game marks its 35^th anniversary in 2022. The original game was released in 1987 and was directed by Takashi Nishiyama. The game was developed by Nishiyama using the boss battles from his previous game, Kung-Fu Master from 1984, as inspiration for the famous one-on-one fighting game. The original release had limited playable characters and a number of NPC bosses for gamers to faceoff with.
