On the reverse face of 2022 1 oz Proof Silver Queen’s Virtues Charity Coins we see the female personification of charity. This beautiful design by Elles Kloosterman is based on the Thomas Brock original and features a mother nursing her infant while embracing her older child. Inscribed along the edge are the Latin words In Omnibus Caritas, which translates to In All Things Charity.
Queen Victoria passed in 1901 and that same year a design was put in place for a monument honoring her life. Known as the Victoria Memorial, this incredible statue by Sir Thomas Brock was finally completed in 1924. The design includes six female figures who personify the different virtues displayed by Victoria during her life. A truly inspiring feat, the virtues displayed on this work of art are ones each of us can in turn aspire to live by as well.
