Sometime around July 1947, a rancher named Mac Brazel found debris in his pasture consisting of metallic sticks, foil reflectors, and bits of heavy paper-like material. On July 8th, military officials entertained the idea that these objects could belong to a flying disc. However, the following day, they changed the narrative and claimed these were the remains of a weather balloon. Years later, a report was issued that the debris was linked to an atomic espionage program called Project Mogul. Because of the conflicting reports, many have suspected that the debris really belongs to a ship from outer space.
On the obverse of 2022 1 oz Proof Mesa Grande Roswell Incident Coins is the image of an American bald eagle. Also found on the obverse is the insert capsule with earth from the crash site. Emanating from around the capsule are rays of light, suggesting there is more to this earth than meets the eye. Along the edge of the coin the hallmarks are listed.
The reverse side of 2022 Mesa Grande Roswell Incident Silver Coins features a version of what may have occurred at the crash site in 1947. The image shows two agents in hazmat suits as they carry off an alien creature on a stretcher. Behind them is a crashed flying saucer. There are inscriptions that read The Roswell Incident, July 8th, 1947.
