The phoenix is a revered and sacred bird that in Chinese culture is known as the Fenghuang. This is because originally, there were two birds, male and female, feng and huang. They were seen as symbols of the ancient cosmic theory of Yin and Yang. Over time, the phoenix came to be seen as an exclusively female bird and was often associated with the male Chinese dragon. The phoenix is also central to Chinese cosmology. Following the god of creation known as Pangu, four creatures emerged from the egg of chaos: the dragon, a qilin, a tortoise, and a phoenix. Together, they are known as the Four Spirits.
These 2022 1 oz Australian Chinese Myths and Legends Phoenix Coins have been struck in .9999 pure silver and feature beautiful, colorized design elements. Each coin arrives inside a stunning display card that also has been decorated with vibrant colorized imagery. If you know someone who loves the phoenix, then this coin could be an excellent gift for them.
The obverse of 2022 Colorized Australian Silver Chinese Myths and Legends Phoenix Coins shows a bust of Queen Elizabeth II. Jody Clark of the Royal Mint designed this portrait in 2015. At the time he was 33 years old, making him the youngest designer to have a portrait accepted by the Royal Mint. Inscriptions along the rim read Elizabeth II, Australia, 1 oz .9999 Ag, 2022, 1 Dollar.
On the reverse face of 2022 1 oz Colorized Silver Chinese Myths and Legends Phoenix Coins you’ll see a Chinese phoenix in flight. This phoenix is colored in its traditional red and gold hues with its wings extended and a paulownia flower in its beak. The initials L.B. are shown for the designer, Lucas Bowers.
