Designed in 2003 by Susanna Blunt, this portrait features the Queen facing right with a dignified, composed expression on her face. Unlike previous portraits, this one does not depict Her Majesty wearing a crown. The words Elizabeth II, D.G. Regina, 5 Dollars are inscribed along the rim, and in the background, there is a beautiful radial pattern.
The reverse of 2022 1 oz Polar Bear Coins shows a polar bear standing on an ice cap. Also included in this design is a paw print privy mark unique to this product, as well as a radial line decoration. There are also inscriptions reading Fine Silver, 1 oz Argent Pur, .9999, Canada 2022.
