Each 2022 1 oz American Silver Eagle listed here at JM Bullion comes with a perfect certification from the PCGS. Coins in Mint State 70 condition exhibit full, original mint luster and come with no detracting flaws of any kind. The included First Day of Issue designation indicates a coin that was received for grading within 24 hours of release from the United States Mint.
When the NGC and PCGS receive coins for certification, experienced coin graders take a close look at the specimens. These experts are looking for the presence of any kind of detracting flaw whether it resulted from a coining error, a worn die, or even mishandling after the coin was struck. These individuals look at both the design strike, the field of the coin, and the rim for any possible flaws. Coins with the best possible condition are given a grade of 70 on the Sheldon numeric scale, the highest possible grade.
Walking Liberty continues to grace the obverse of 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coins in 2022. This design from Adolph A. Weinman dates back to 1916 and was first used on the US half dollar until 1947. Revived in 1986 for this series, it has graced the obverse of the coins every year since.
A new depiction of the American bald eagle makes its second appearance on 1 oz American Silver Eagles. Designed in 2020 by Emily Damstra and debuting on the coins in 2021, the 2022 release of this image marks the first full year of production the design will experience after appearing for just half of the 2021 release.
