The American Gold Eagle bullion series consists of four coins available on an annual basis. Among the best-selling gold coins in the world, these symbols bear images of America on both the obverse and reverse fields. Each coin is struck with 22-karat gold content and comes with a face value backed by the United States government. Today, 2022 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you online from JM Bullion in perfect condition.
Coin Highlights:
When the US Mint released the American Gold Eagle in 1986, it was the purest gold coin the mint had issued since 1834. From 1834 to 1933, American gold coins had 90% gold with 10% copper. The American Gold Eagle has 22-karat gold content, which translates as 91.67% gold with 5.33% copper and 3% silver to complete the metallic alloy of the coin.
All of the 2022 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins available here come in perfect condition. Coins with a Mint State 70 grade have full, original mint luster and no detracting flaws of any kind. The included Early Release label means the coins were received by the NGC for grading within 30 days of release by the US Mint.
On the obverse of 2022 American Gold Eagles is an image of Lady Liberty. This historic design first graced American coins from 1907 to 1933 and was revived in 1986 for this series. Designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, it shows Liberty in front-facing relief with a torch in her right hand to guide her way and an olive branch in her left hand. The background field includes the U.S. Capitol Building, sun rays behind her figure, and a ring of 50 stars around the rim of the design field.
The reverse side of the 2022 1 oz Gold Eagle includes a depiction of the American bald eagle. This design debuted in 2021 in the second half of the release schedule and replaced the now-retired family of bald eagles that had been designed for the series in 1986 by Miley Busiek. This new image comes from Jennie Norris.
