The 2019 date mark brought a new series of silver rounds from the Germania Mint. One of the hallmarks of the silver rounds available from the Germania Mint is the use of .9999 pure silver content. Each of the 2022 1 Kilo Germania Silver Rounds available here comes to you with an individual plastic capsule. The 1 Kilo silver round in the Germania Series is the largest option available and comes with the lowest mintage. At just 100 rounds produced in total, the 1 Kilo Germania Silver Round has a mintage one-tenth that of the next closest options in the series, the 1 oz proof silver round and the 10 oz silver round.
In 2021, the Germania Mint introduced a new approach to its Germania designs. Even though the four weights in the series have the same design each year, the 2021 design introduced the concept of ever-widening design viewpoints. For example, the image on the 1 oz silver round is narrowly focused on Germania from a closer viewpoint. Conversely, these 1 Kilo silver rounds have a wider viewpoint that zooms out from the image of Germania and includes more background elements.
Germania is featured on the obverse of 2022 Germania Silver Rounds. The design shows Germania taking her first steps on shore in a new land. Having sailed the seas for years, her long journey has come to an end. As she disembarks, she has the Reichsschwert in her right hand and a shield in her left. The double-headed eagle flies by her side.
For the reverse field of 2022 1 Kilo Germania Rounds, the mint features the seal of Germania Mint. This design includes a front-facing, double-headed eagle. In the design, the eagle clutches lightning bolts in its talons and is flanked by olive branches. The double-headed eagle is rooted in the symbolism of the Roman god Janus, the guardian of doorways and passages. The heads of the eagle look in opposite directions as a symbol of viewing both the past and the future.
