There are few gold coins in the world available that are smaller than the 1/50 oz Somalia Gold Elephant. One of the more recent introductions in this beautiful series, the 1/50 oz gold coin is an annual option in the series and, though it is one of the smallest gold coins around, it is actually bested within its own series by an even smaller coin. Today, 2022 1/50 oz Somalia Gold Elephant Coins are available to you online from JM Bullion.

Somalia Gold Elephant Coins are issued by the Bavarian State Mint on an annual basis and have been since 1999, when the series was known as the Zambia Gold Elephants, and since 2004 in its current incarnation as the Somalia Gold Elephant Series. After originally offering just a 1 oz gold coin, the Somalia Elephant Series now offers a total of eight weights ranging from 1 oz to 1/50 oz and 1/2 Gram gold.
All of the 2022 1/50 oz Somalia Gold Elephant Coins available here at JM Bullion come in Brilliant Uncirculated condition from the mint. Coins in this weight are available to you with plastic capsules or tubes of 20 coins.
Obverse designs of 2022 Somalia Gold Elephant Coins feature the coat of arms of Somalia. The national seal includes a crowned shield that has horizontal lines in the background field with a single star at the center. The field also includes a set of leopards supporting the shield on either side, with spears and fern leaves beneath.
Reverse fields of the 2022 1/50 oz Gold Elephant Coins include the new depiction of African bush elephants in left-profile relief. The design shows a mature bush elephant leading its young calf along the savanna as birds fly overhead and trees dot the horizon.
African bush elephants are the largest living land mammals. One of three living subspecies of elephants, the bush elephant is the largest and one of two inhabiting the African continent, with the other being the African forest elephant. The other subspecies of elephants alive today, and the second-largest land mammal in the world, is the Asian elephant.
