When Geiger Edelmetalle introduced the Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Series in 2011, the coins were available in 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/4 oz silver. One year later, the series introduced four additional weights for investors that included 5 oz, 10 oz, 1 Kilo, and 5 Kilo silver coins. The 1/4 oz silver coin is among the best-selling silver coins in the series.
The 1 oz silver coin is the powerhouse in this series and has been the best-seller every year with the exception of 2018. The only coin to ever top the 1 oz silver coin is the 1/4 oz silver coin, which outsold the 1 oz coin in 2018.
In the obverse design of the 2022 1/4 oz Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Coin, you will find a depiction of the seal of the Republic of Armenia. The design element features a quartered shield with heraldic eagles in the second and third quadrants, while heraldic lions are shown in the first and fourth quadrants. The center of the shield features a smaller seal with the image of Noah’s ark on the top of Mount Ararat.
For the reverse design of the 2022 Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Coin, the mint depicts the image of Noah’s ark. The ark is floating on the floodwaters as the rain has stopped and the waters have begun to recede. As the water level falls, the sun begins to rise over Mount Ararat in the distant background. There is a dove flying into the foreground with an olive branch in its beak as a symbol that dry land exists.
