The 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle is often the lowest-minted coin in the series each year. The four coins of the Gold Eagle Series may have different mintages, but they all have one thing in common: shared designs. All four coins have the same designs each year and got a new reverse design in mid-2021. Now, 2021 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you for purchase online from JM Bullion in perfect condition.
Coin Highlights:
In 2021, the United States Mint marked the 35th anniversary of the Gold Eagle Series. This was done in a number of ways. The most notable was the change in the design element on the reverse of the coins. 2021-dated coins were released with the original design for one final rollout in the series, but only through the first half of the year.
By July 2021, the US Mint had retired the design by Miley Busiek that had featured on the coins since 1986. Starting in July 2021, the mint began to release the Gold Eagles with a new reverse design from Jennie Norris.
Obverse imagery on the 2022 1/4 oz Gold Eagle includes the historic vision of Lady Liberty. Designed in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, this image shows Liberty in front-facing relief with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The design field includes the U.S. Capitol Building at her feet with sun rays behind her and a ring of 50 stars around the field.
Reverse designs on 2022 American Gold Eagles include the all-new bald eagle design. Designed by Jennie Norris in 2020 and debuting on the coins in 2021, the design shows only the head of a bald eagle in left-profile relief.
These 2022 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you for purchase in plastic slabs with Mint State 70 certifications. Coins with this grade showcase full, original mint luster and have no detracting flaws. First Day of Issue coins are specimens received by the NGC for grading within 24 hours of release from the mint.
