The Lunar Series III collection features gold, silver, and platinum coins. The platinum bullion coin is the newest in the series and only comes in a 1 oz platinum option. It was recently introduced in 2020 with the launch of the Lunar Series III program. The silver series offers six BU coins, while the gold series offers seven BU coins. The 1/10 oz gold coin is the second smallest, with only the 1/20 oz gold coins smaller than this option.

On the obverse of 2022 Australian Gold Lunar Tiger Coins is an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed in 2015 by Jody Clark, this portrait of the Queen debuted on Perth Mint coins in 2018 and came to the Lunar Series program in 2020 with the launch of Lunar Series III coins. In this portrait, the Queen is shown at the age of 89.

The reverse side of the 2022 1/10 oz Gold Lunar Tiger Coin features the third Year of the Tiger design for gold coins in Perth Mint history. Created by Monique Reeves, it shows the long, muscular frame of the tiger as it stands along a rock ledge using its massive paws to grip the very edge of the rocks.
