Each 2021-W 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Coin available through this JM Bullion listing comes with a perfect designation. Coins in PF70 condition exhibit full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws of any kind present. The coins feature two additional designations that include Ultra-Cameo and First Day of Issue.
The UCAM label is for proof coins only and indicates the presence of strong, frosted design elements overlaying deeply-mirrored, clear background fields. The First Day of Issue Label is a unique one and means that the coins were received for grading within 24 hours of the US Mint’s release of the coins.
The obverse of the 2021-W 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagles features the iconic design of Walking Liberty. This image of Liberty was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and depicts her figure in left-profile relief. Liberty walks toward the horizon with her right hand extended toward the sun on the horizon with her left hand carrying branches of oak and laurel. The American flag is draped around her figure.
On the reverse side of 2021-W 1 oz Proof Silver Eagles is an image of the heraldic eagle. In use on the coin since 1986, this is the final date mark that will bear the heraldic eagle design. The design was modernized for this series in 1986 and features a powerful bald eagle in front-facing relief as it supports the US national shield. The eagle clutches the olive branches of peace in one talon and the arrows of war in the other talon.
By mid-2021, new Proof American Silver Eagles will be produced by the US Mint with the new image of a bald eagle. The new design depicts the eagle soaring down toward its nest with a large oak branch in its talons.
