The Burnished American Silver Eagle is an alternative collectible piece in the Silver Eagle Series alongside the Proof American Silver Eagle. The Burnished Silver Eagles have been available since 2006, with the only exceptions being the 2009 and 2010 date marks. Right now, 2021-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagle Coins are available to purchase online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
Each of the 2021-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagle Coins available in this listing comes with presentation packaging from the United States Mint. The coins are individually housed in plastic capsules and come with a blue presentation box from the US Mint with the mint seal on its lid. Included with your purchase is a Certificate of Authenticity from the United States Mint.
The Burnished American Silver Eagle, like other versions of the 2021 Silver Eagle, will feature the new reverse American bald eagle design from Emily Damstra. However, unlike the BU and Proof coins, the US Mint will only issue the Burnished Silver Eagle with the new Type 2 design. There will be no Type 1 release of 2021 Burnished Silver Eagles.
The obverse field of the 2021-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagle coin includes the Walking Liberty design. Created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, the Walking Liberty image features Lady Liberty in left-profile relief walking toward the sun on the horizon. She reaches out with her right hand toward the sun and carries the branches of oak and laurel in her left hand. The American flag is shown flapping over her shoulders. You will also find Weinman's original 1916 "AW" signature mark on the obverse of all Type 2 coins.
On the reverse side of 2021-W Burnished Silver Eagles is a depiction of the new bald eagle image. The design shows a bald eagle flying through the sky with its powerful wings flexed behind its figure as its talons clutch an oak branch beneath its frame. This design was created by Emily Damstra, a member of the US Mint Artistic Infusion Program whose design was chosen from more than 30 submissions to be the new reverse face of the coin series.
