Introduced in 2006, the Burnished American Silver Eagle is an alternative collectible coin alongside the Proof American Silver Eagle. Burnished Silver Eagles were issued from 2006 to 2008 and have been available annually as of 2011. In 2021, the Burnished American Silver Eagle gets the same redesign as the other coins in the series. Now, 2021-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins are available to you for purchase online from JM Bullion in near-perfect condition.
Coin Highlights:
Burnished American Silver Eagles are produced by the United States Mint by first burnishing the blanks. Prior to striking the designs in a coining press, the silver blanks used in production are polished in a drum with a burnishing medium that creates a matte finish. The blanks are handled with gloved hands.
From the drum to the coining press to the US Mint packaging, the blanks are carefully handled to ensure the matte finish remains intact. The coins have a low mintage each year when compared to the BU and Proof versions of the coin. For example, the US Mint limited the individual packaging of these coins in 2021 to 175,000.
Walking Liberty is depicted in the obverse design of 2021-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins. The design shows Liberty in left-profile relief as she walks along the horizon toward the sun. The American flag is draped around her figure as she reaches for the sun with one hand and carries branches of oak and laurel in the other.
An American bald eagle is depicted in an all-new design on the reverse of 2021-W Burnished American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins. Designed by Emily Damstra, this visual shows a bald eagle flying through the sky with its wings spread and its talons clutching an oak branch.
These 2021-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins are in near-perfect condition. Mint State 69 coins showcase full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor detractions present. These detractions are limited in nature to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and limited in scope to the areas outside the primary focal points of the coin. The First Strike label indicates coins received by the PCGS within 30 days of release from the mint.
