Proof American Silver Eagles have been struck by three of the four branch mints of the US Mint, with only the Denver Mint never issuing the coins. Prior to 2018, no two mints had struck the coins together within the same year on a regular basis. However, as of 2018, both the West Point Mint and San Francisco Mint issue the coins for annual sales. Right now, 2021-S 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins in near-perfect condition are available to purchase online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
Each 2021-S 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coin listed here comes in near-perfect condition. Coins with a PR69 grade exhibit full, original mint luster with no more than two minor detractions present on the design elements or fields. Those flaws are limited in nature to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and must be located outside of the primary focal points of the coins. First Strike coins are those that were received by the PCGS for grading within 30 days of the initial release of the coins.
The Proof American Silver Eagle Coin has, since 2018, been issued by the West Point Mint and the San Francisco Mint each year. While the W-Proof Silver Eagle was issued with both the Type 1 and Type 2 coins, the S-Proof Silver Eagle is making its debut in 2021 and is only available with the Type 2 design.
Walking Liberty features on the obverse of 2021-S Proof American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins. This design was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and depicts Liberty in left-profile. Draped in the American flag, she walks toward the sun on the horizon as she extends her right hand and carries branches of oak and laurel in her left hand.
An American bald eagle is found on the reverse side of 2021-S 1 oz Proof Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins. The image of the bald eagle shows the bird flying downward with its wings flexed and an oak branch in its talons. The new design on this side comes from Emily Damstra, a well-known coin and medal designer who works with the US Mint Artistic Infusion Program.
