The American Silver Eagle Coin enters 2021 with a lot of activity going on in the precious metals industry. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 resulted in the production of American Silver Eagles spreading out across three branch mints to protect the US Mint’s employee base. This all occurred as demand for the coins surged dramatically and as the US Mint scheduled the release of a first-ever design change for the 35th anniversary. Today, 2021 (P) American Silver Eagle Monster Boxes are available to you online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
The United States Mint strikes its BU American Silver Eagle Coins each year to look exactly alike regardless of where the coins are issued. The West Point Mint has been the primary coining facility for the Silver Eagle since 2001. In 2011, the US Mint boosted capacity by offering supplemental coining assistance from the San Francisco Mint, the original home of the coins from 1986 to 1998. In 2020, facing intense demand and worker safety requirements amidst the pandemic, the US Mint also turned to the Philadelphia Mint for emergency coining. Assistance from the Philadelphia Mint continues in 2021 as the US Mint rolls out its original design combinations for the final time.
All of the 2021 (P) American Silver Eagle Coins in this listing come with a United States Mint Monster Box. The green Monster Box holds a total of 500 coins from the 2021 release. Inside the box, you will find 25 tubes of 20 coins each, with all specimens in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins do not bear a “P” mint mark from the Philadelphia Mint. Rather, the serial numbers on the boxes identify the product as originating from the Philadelphia Mint.
On the obverse of the coins in this 2021 (P) American Silver Eagle Monster Box is the image of Walking Liberty. The design of Liberty shown here was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and first used on the US half dollar until 1947.
The reverse side of 2021 (P) American Silver Eagle Coins in the Monster Box features the heraldic eagle design for the final time in the series. This design depicts a bald eagle supporting the US national shield. By mid-2021, new 2021-dated Silver Eagles will be available from the US Mint with a new reverse image of the bald eagle.
