The 2021 release of the American Silver Eagle bullion coin marks the 35th anniversary of the nation’s official silver bullion series. The coins in this range are available without mintage caps, though 2021 production includes a planned delay as the US Mint changes over dies in its coining presses for the debut of a new reverse visual after mid-2021. Today, 2021 (P) 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coins are available to you online in near-perfect condition from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
With the COVID-19 pandemic ongoing through late 2020 and early 2021, the US Mint continued to deal with surging demand for silver and limited staffing at its facilities. As a result, the Philadelphia Mint was pressed into emergency coining in early 2020 and again with the start of coining for the 2021-dated coins.
All of the 2021 (P) 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coins in this listing come with a near-perfect certification. Coins with a Mint State 69 certification have full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Coins in this condition have only minuscule contact marks or hairlines visible and the flaws must be present outside of the primary focal points of the coin. The coins come with a 35th-anniversary label in the NGC slab. An Early Release coin, these items were received for grading within 30 days of the original release date at the US Mint.
On the obverse of 2021 (P) American Silver Eagles is a depiction of Walking Liberty. This visual was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and used on the US Half Dollar circulation piece until 1947. The image of Liberty is shown walking toward the sun as it crests over a mountain in the distance. With her right hand outreached, Liberty carries branches of oak and laurel while wearing the American flag around her figure.
The reverse side of the 2021 (P) Silver Eagle features the heraldic eagle. In the final issue of the Silver Eagle with the heraldic eagle design, the coin depicts a front-facing bald eagle supporting the US national shield on its chest. The eagle clutches the olive branch of peace in one hand with the arrows of war in the other talon. The banner in its beak reads “E Pluribus Unum,” while a cluster of 13 stars over its head represents the original colonies.
