In the first year of Morgan Silver Dollar production in 1878, the Philadelphia Mint location struck more than 10 million coins. In its final year in 1921, the Philadelphia Mint struck a staggering 44 million coins. In 2021, the mintage figures are much lower for this commemorative release, but the Philadelphia Mint is nonetheless busy. In addition to issuing these coins with no mint mark to honor its original production role, the Philadelphia Mint also issued 2021 Morgan Dollars with O and CC privy marks to honor the now-closed New Orleans Mint and Carson City Mint.

On the obverse of 2021 Morgan Dollars is a bust of Lady Liberty. Struck in left-profile relief, this portrait of Liberty’s head includes a Phrygian cap, laurel wreath, and coronet crown, as well as 13 stars along the rim of the design field.
The reverse face of 2021 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins comes with the original heraldic eagle from George T. Morgan. This design shows the eagle with spread wings as it clutches the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace. The eagle’s head looks toward the olive branch of peace.
