In 2021, the US Mint marked the 100th anniversary of the last Morgan Dollar strike with a modern silver bullion version of the coin. In total, five versions were struck to represent each historic US Mint branch facility that issued the coins from 1878 to 1904 and in 1921. Each 2021 CC Privy Morgan Silver Dollar Coin offered here is in near-perfect condition. Mint State 69 coins exhibit full, original mint luster and have a maximum of two minor detractions. These flaws must be located outside the primary focal points and are limited to minuscule contact marks or hairlines.
Part of the 2021 Morgan Silver Dollar release included coins with privy marks to honor now-defunct branches of the US Mint. This included these CC Privy Morgan Silver Dollars to honor the Carson City Mint.
The obverse of the 2021 CC Privy Morgan Dollar features the head of Lady Liberty, a symbol of freedom and independence, in left-profile relief. Meanwhile, the reverse of the 2021 Morgan Silver Dollar shows a majestic bald eagle, representing strength and courage.
In total, the Carson City Mint issued 13 date marks in the Morgan Silver Dollar Series. Carson City struck Morgan Dollars from 1878 to 1885, went through a production hiatus between 1886 and 1888, and resumed coining in 1889. Carson City would continue striking Morgan Silver Dollars again from 1889 until its closure in 1893.
