Over the course of 13 years in the 19th century, the Carson City Mint contributed to the production of Morgan Silver Dollars for use in commercial transactions in the United States. In 2021, the US Mint revived the Morgan Silver Dollar design to mark the centennial of its final strike in 1921. Each mint that originally struck the coins was honored in this release. Today, 2021 CC Privy Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available to you online at JM Bullion in perfect condition.
Coin Highlights:
The Carson City Mint was the only one of the five branch mints of the US Mint to issue Morgan Silver Dollars in non-consecutive years. The Philadelphia Mint and San Francisco Mint issued the coins every year from 1878 to 1904 and in 1921. The New Orleans Mint struck the coins from 1879 to 1904. The Denver Mint issued the coins only once, in 1921. The Carson City Mint, however, struck the coins from 1878 to 1885 and again from 1889 to 1893 when it closed permanently.
All of the 2021 CC Privy Morgan Silver Dollar Coins listed here come in perfect condition. Coins with a Mint State 70 certification have full, original mint luster and come with no detracting flaws. The First Day of Issue designation is for coins received by the NGC within 24 hours of its release from the US Mint.
On the obverse of 2021 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins is a depiction of Lady Liberty. This bust of Liberty captures her head in left-profile relief with the coronet crown and a laurel wreath on her head. There are 13 stars on this field of the coin, as well as a date mark.
The reverse field of the 2021 CC Privy Morgan Silver Dollar Coins features an image of the heraldic eagle. Similar to other 19th-century versions of the heraldic eagle, this design from George T. Morgan shows the bald eagle in front-facing relief with the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace, but it lacks a US national shield.
