The 2021 CC Privy Morgan Silver Dollar was released to honor the role of the Carson City Mint in issuing the Morgan Silver Dollars in the 19th century. The Carson City Mint issued Morgan Dollars from 1878 to 1885 and again, briefly, from 1889 to 1893. The Philadelphia Mint struck these commemorative bullion coins with a CC privy mark on the reverse field in honor of the Carson City Mint, a branch mint that closed in 1893.
The obverse of 2021 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins features a left-profile portrait of Liberty. This effigy of the female allegorical figure shows her with a wreath crown and a coronet on her head. The field has 13 stars that are split seven in front of Liberty’s face and six behind her head along the border of the design field.
On the reverse side of 2021 CC Privy Morgan Silver Dollar Coins is an image of the heraldic eagle. This 19th-century version of the national seal shows the bald eagle in front-facing relief as its talons clutch the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace. If you look beneath the ribbon in the oak-and-laurel wreath, just above the D and O in dollar, you will find the CC privy mark.
