Introduced in 1983, the Chinese Silver Panda debuted one year after the start of the broader Chinese Panda bullion program, which started in 1982 with gold bullion coins. From 1983 to 1988, the Silver Panda underwent a variety of changes. Since 1989, it has been one of the standard bearers of silver bullion in the precious metals market. Now, 2021 30 Gram Chinese Silver Panda Coins are available from JM Bullion in perfect condition.
Coin Highlights:
The obverse of the 2021 30 Gram Silver Panda Coin comes with a depiction of a mother panda with her cub. As the mother looks on from below, the bold young cub is climbing the trunk of a tree.
On the reverse of 2021 Chinese Silver Pandas, you will find the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This design was created in 1982 for the debut of the Chinese Panda Series. It depicts the primary building in the Temple of Heaven Complex as viewed from the base of the stairs leading to its main doorway.
Chinese Silver Pandas had a different early history than the Chinese Gold Panda. From 1983 to 1985, Silver Pandas were 27 Gram coins with 90% silver content. No Silver Pandas were issued in 1986 or 1988, with the 1987 Silver Panda the first 1 Troy oz coin, but with sterling silver content (92.5% silver). In 1989, the Silver Panda was standardized at 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver and issued as a BU specimen for the first time. All previous issues were proof coins.
These 2021 30 Gram Chinese Silver Panda Coins are available in Mint State 70 condition. Coins with this grade showcase full, original mint luster and have no detractions present. The First Day of Issue label indicates the coins were received for certification within 24 hours of the mint’s release.
