The brightness of Venus has always stirred the imaginations of humans watching the skies and has made it one of the most prominent celestial objects in cultures, myths, and religions around the world. As modern science learned more about the second terrestrial planet from the sun, the revelations were surprising: thanks to the runaway greenhouse effect of its dense mostly carbon dioxide atmosphere, it is actually the solar system’s hottest planet, with surface temperatures of up to 900 degrees Fahrenheit. The planet’s exotic reality and ancient mystique make it an object of intrigue to this day.
The 2021 Proof Cameroon Silver Venus Coin, with its striking digital-print portrait of Venus, set under a magnifying lens, is thus sure to be a prized item for collectors and astronomy aficionados. Its beautiful medallic artwork and proof-quality finish, decorative gilding, and elegant overall design make it an excellent gift for special occasions. This exclusive limited mintage ships in an astronomy-themed presentation case with the Certificate of Authenticity, and JM Bullion fully insures your shipment against any possibility of loss or damage.
The coin’s obverse is dominated by a realistic, magnified portrait of the complex surface of Venus, set amidst an intricate star map that names over twenty important stars and galaxies and traces out several important constellations. The map is framed inside a gilded rim and decorated with a dozen gilded spheres.
The reverse side is dominated by the coat of arms of the issuing nation of Cameroon. It’s joined by the inscriptions “Republique du Cameroun,” “2021” and “500 Francs CFA,” along with the French and English versions of the motto “Peace,” “Work,” “Fatherland.”
