The Queen’s Virtues Series is based on a monument in London near Buckingham Palace that was erected in the early 20th century to honor Queen Victoria after her death in 1901. Known as the Victoria Memorial, it features six female allegorical figures that were long associated with her reign and the Victorian Era in England. The first to feature in this series is the one most prominently displayed on the memorial: Victory.
All of the 2021 1 oz Proof St. Helena Silver Queen’s Virtues Victory Coins in this listing come with beautiful presentation cases from the East India Company. The coins are encapsulated and set within a black presentation box. Each one has a Certificate of Authenticity available from the mint as well. The coins are proof specimens with frosted designs and mirrored fields.
Queen Elizabeth II is found on the obverse of 2021 Proof St. Helena Silver Queen’s Virtues Victory Coins. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief in the Royal Mint’s 2015 design from Jody Clark. Now popularly used throughout the Commonwealth and territories of the United Kingdom, this design shows the Queen at the age of 89 with the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head.
An allegorical representation of Victory is featured on the reverse side of 2021 1 oz Proof Silver Queen’s Virtues Coins. This depiction shows Victory in left-profile relief with her right hand held high, her left hand holding a palm branch, and her wings flexed out behind her figure. Victory is associated closely with both Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen is the sovereign Head of the Armed Forces to this day and has the sold duty to formally declare war and accept peace to end a conflict.
