The Australian Rectangular Dragon Series from Perth Mint has been available since 2018. It is the world’s preeminent rectangular silver bullion coin series and was the first legal tender rectangular coin available. Coin Highlights:
Australian Rectangular Dragon Series coins are available in 1 oz silver and 1 oz gold each year. The design on the obverse of the coins has remained the same through its production history, to date, but the reverse field of the coins has changed each year. Perth Mint offers up a slightly different image of the Chinese dragon on the reverse of the coins with each release.
In addition to the 1 oz gold and 1 oz silver coins in the BU range, Perth Mint offers the coins in a 1 oz proof silver coin as well. The proof coins have the same design elements as the BU coins, but are individually packaged and come with a Certificate of Authenticity from the mint.
Queen Elizabeth II is on the obverse side of the 2021 Proof Australian Rectangular Silver Dragon Coins. This effigy of the Queen is the sixth-generation design to feature on Australian coins and was created by Jody Clark. Originally created for the Royal Mint of England, this effigy of the Queen is a right-profile relief with the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown.
A coiled dragon is featured on the reverse of 2021 1 oz Proof Rectangular Silver Dragon Coins. This fourth design in the series depicts the Chinese dragon with its body coiled up in a figure-eight shape and all four of its sharp, powerful claws captured in the design element.
These 2021 1 oz Proof Australian Rectangular Silver Dragon Coins are available with individual packaging from Perth Mint. The coin is housed inside a clear display case and comes with a themed shipping box. A numbered Certificate of Authenticity is available with your purchase.
