Bhutan is located in South Asia and is a landlocked country that has long been situated along the historic Silk Road trading route at the nexus between the ports of Southeast Asia and China, the Indian Subcontinent, and onward toward Europe. The small, independent nation of Bhutan has maintained its independence throughout its history and has never been colonized by a foreign power.
All of the 2021 1 oz Kingdom of Bhutan Lunar Ox Silver Coins available here are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are individually packaged inside of plastic capsules and these 2021 issues have a mintage one-quarter that of the 2020 coin. While the 2020 coins had a mintage of 200,000, there will be only 50,000 of these 2021 Ox coins.
On the obverse side of the 2021 Kingdom of Bhutan Lunar Ox Silver Coin is a depiction of an ox. The design is in keeping with the five previous releases in the series with a large bloom framing the image of the ox in the center. The ox itself is decorated with floral accents, leaves, and clouds to capture the charm of the Kingdom of Bhutan.
The reverse field of 2021 1 oz Kingdom of Bhutan Lunar Ox Coins includes the image of the national coat of arms. The Bhutanese coat of arms includes a male and female dragon swirled around a lotus flower.
The Bhutan Lunar and Attraction Series was introduced in 2016 and, like other lunar collections, has a 12-year release cycle that will run through 2027. The coins are all produced for the Kingdom of Bhutan by the Singapore Mint.
