Yuri Gagarin served in the Soviet Air Forces during World War II before his transition to the Soviet space program. He had been stationed near the Russian border with Norway before his move to the Soviet space program. He was one of the first five Cosmonauts trained by the Soviet Union and would make world history in 1961 when he launched into orbit around the planet aboard a Vostok 1 rocket. He would make one orbit around the Earth before returning to the planet.
The obverse side of 2021 Germania Interkosmos Gagarin Silver Rounds comes with a depiction of Yuri Gagarin. He is shown in the foreground of the design element wearing his spacesuit, with planet Earth visible directly behind him. Next to that is an image of the Vostok 1 rocket that powered him beyond the bounds of Earth and into the cosmos.
On the reverse field of 2021 1 oz Interkosmos Gagarin Silver Rounds is a design showcasing the State Emblem of the Soviet Union. After Gagarin’s accomplishments aboard the Vostok 1 during his 1961 spaceflight, he went on to serve in the Soviet government as a deputy of the Soviet Union and as a Soviet of Nationalities.

"Amazing tribute to the first man in space and fantastic value for anyone wanting some space age spice in their stack/collection. The only other soviet themed silver of similar size and price are some of the OG commemoratives done during the 1978/80 Moscow Olympics."
