Within the EC8 Series at Scottsdale Mint, eight nations from the Caribbean Sea are featured with unique designs. Each year this series has been issued has offered a new design for each of those eight nations, with eight designs per year. The coins are offered in gold and silver, with the 1 oz silver coins available in BU and colorized proof options. Today, 2021 1 oz EC8 Silver Antigua and Barbuda Coins are available to you online at JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
The EC8 Series debuted in 2018 at Scottsdale Mint. The eight states that follow the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank as a monetary authority are all represented in the series, each with a unique design representing that island and its culture. The first coin design released each time through the cycle is the Antigua and Barbuda design.
All of the 2021 1 oz EC8 Silver Antigua and Barbuda Coins available here come individually packaged or in bulk. Individual coins are available in a protective capsule, with sealed skinboards available for multiples of 5 coins. Multiples of 125 coins in this release are available in boxes.
Obverse designs on these 2021 EC8 Silver Antigua and Barbuda Coins come with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is the longest-reigning monarch in British history and serves as the sovereign head of state for countless Commonwealth nations, including Antigua and Barbuda. Her effigy shown here was designed in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley and shows the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara.
Reverse visuals on 2021 1 oz EC8 Silver Antigua and Barbuda Coins feature a depiction of the frigate bird. The first design for Antigua and Barbuda not to feature a rum-running ship, the design shows a frigate bird perched on a tree in the jungles of the island nation.
The EC8 Series represents Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Anguilla. The only one of these nations that was not a founding member of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank is Anguilla. That nations, and Montserrat, are the only non-independent nations within the bloc as well.
