Coin Highlights:
Anne de Mortimer is the figure responsible for the White Lion of Mortimer. The mother of Richard, Duke of York, Anne de Mortimer was the grandmother of both King Edward IV and King Richard III, the first and final monarchs from the House of York, respectively. Anne was the daughter of Roger Mortimer. The elder Mortimer descended from Lionel, Duke of Clarence, the second surviving son of King Edward III of England. This gave the Mortimer family and its descendants a claim to the throne when the childless King Richard II came to the throne.
All of the 2021 1 oz British Platinum Queen’s Beast White Lion Coins are available to you for purchase individually or in multiples. Individual coins are available in protective plastic flips. Multiples come in either mint tubes of 10 coins or boxes of 100 coins.
Queen Elizabeth II features on the obverse side of 2021 British Platinum Queen’s Beast White Lion Coins. Her Majesty is the longest-reigning monarch in the history of England, surpassing her own great-grandmother Queen Victoria. The Queen has been on the throne since 1952 and the 10 beasts featured in the Queen’s Beast Series, including the White Lion of Mortimer, were present in statue form at her coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey in 1953.
The White Lion of Mortimer design is found on the reverse side of 2021 1 oz British Platinum Queen’s Beast White Lion Coins. The White Lion is shown without a crown and stands on its hind legs as it defends the shield with the seal of the House of York. "I have typically bought silver from JM Bullion for my nieces and nephews over the years. Great communication, competitive pricing, and dependable shipping. I just received my first once of platinum, the 2021 British Queens Beast White Lion Coin, and all I have to say is wow. This coin is gorgeous. The pictures do not do this coin justice. The fine details with the contrast of the polished lion and queens profile of the coin are perfect. Highly recommended! !"
