The White Horse of Hanover comes to the Royal Arms of England through the House of Hanover, a German royal house that ruled the throne of Great Britain from the 1714 ascension of Elector George of Hanover through the death of Queen Victoria in 1901. With the rise of King George I, the moniker assumed by Elector George upon his coronation, the White Horse of Hanover was included in the Royal Arms of England.
However, because of the salic laws abided by Hanover, Queen Victoria could not rule over Hanover following the death of King William IV of England. As such, Queen Victoria continued the Hanoverian rule on the throne of England, but did not carry the White Horse and House of Hanover’s arms in her Royal Arms of England.
The obverse of 2021 1 oz British Platinum Queen’s Beast White Horse Coins features a bust of Queen Elizabeth II. This right-profile portrait includes an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 89 wearing the George IV State Diadem on her head. This design was created for the Royal Mint of England in 2015 by Jody Clark.
On the reverse side of 2021 British Platinum Queen’s Beast White Horse Coins is the White Horse of Hanover supporting the Royal Arms of King George I. The Royal Arms consists of a quartered shield bearing the combined arms of England and Scotland in the first quadrant, the French lilies in the second quadrant, the Harp of Ireland in the third quadrant, and the arms of the House of Hanover in the fourth, complete with the White Horse.
The coins are packaged individually in plastic flips. Multiples of 10 coins ship in plastic tubes, while multiples of 100 ship in boxes containing 10 tubes of 10 coins each.
