The American Silver Eagle coin is taking off in a new direction in 2021. As part of its 35th anniversary, the US Mint is issuing the coins in 2021 with two different designs. After using the original design from John Mercanti one final time during the first half of the year, the so-called Type 2 Eagles are now available with the all-new design from Emily Damstra. Just in time for Christmas, JM Bullion has special presentation cards for 2021 Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins. Today, 2021 1 oz American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins are available to you in Merry Christmas presentation cards online at JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
The 2021 release of Silver Eagles includes both reverse design elements, but not at the same time. From January to June 2021, the mint issued the heraldic eagle design for the final time as part of the 35th anniversary. As a continuation of the 35th anniversary and to mark a new chapter in the series, the US Mint began issuing 2021 Silver Eagles in July with the new reverse design from Emily Damstra.
All of these 2021 1 oz American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins are available to you for purchase in a presentation card. The coins are sealed in these special presentation cards that offer a red colorization with decorative holly throughout the background. There is also a gold-colorized print of Merry Christmas on the card.
On the obverse of 2021 American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins is a portrait of Lady Liberty in left-profile relief. Known as Walking Liberty, this depiction of her full-length figure captures her walking toward the sun as it crests a mountain on the horizon. She is draped in the American flag, holds out her right hand, and carries branches of oak and laurel in her left hand.
The reverse side of the 2021 Silver Eagle Type 2 Coin comes with a depiction of the American bald eagle. This all-new design from Emily Damstra features the bird in flight with its wings behind its frame and its talons clutching a large oak branch.
