When buying silver in the American Silver Eagle Series, investors and collectors can choose between BU, Proof, and Burnished versions of the coin. Each of these versions is also available on an annual basis with certifications from the NGC and PCGS. These certified versions are as popular as the standard options in the collection. Today, near-perfect 2021 1 oz American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins are available to you online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
With the release of the 2021 American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins, the United States Mint has done more than just change the reverse design element of the coin from the Heraldic Eagle design to the all-new American bald eagle image. It has also added an anti-counterfeiting feature to the edges of the coin in the form of a reeded variation. The US Mint also enhanced the obverse field to bring it closer to Weinman’s original 1916 design by adding his signature mark to the coins as featured on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar.
All of these 2021 1 oz American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins come with near-perfect certification and First Day of Issue labels from the PCGS. Mint State 69 coins have full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor detractions. Those flaws are limited to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and must be outside the primary focal points of the coin. The FDOI label indicates the PCGS received these coins for grading within 24 hours of the US Mint’s initial release.
On the obverse of 2021 Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins is Walking Liberty. Designed in 1916 by Weinman, this image shows Liberty’s full figure in left-profile relief walking toward the sun. She holds out her right hand and carries branches of oak and laurel in her left. The image was meant to reflect America’s constant march toward a brighter future.
The reverse side of 2021 1 oz Silver Eagle Type 2s comes with the new design from Emily Damstra. In this design, an American bald eagle is shown mid-flight with its wings flapped behind its frame as its talons clutch an oak branch beneath.
