The 35th anniversary of the American Gold Eagle arrives in 2021 and brings with it some of the most important changes the series has ever seen. The US Mint announced in late 2019 that the 2021 coins would feature new reverse designs in the silver and gold collections. With those designs not yet ready for production, 2021 Gold Eagles will begin the year with the existing obverse-reverse design combination.
Coin Highlights:
American Gold Eagle coins will get a new reverse design to replace the depiction of a family of American bald eagles. The US Mint will launch the 2021 Gold Eagles with the existing design until new dies are ready to strike the new reverse imagery. This will make the 2021 Gold Eagle release the only one in the history of the series to feature two different designs on the reverse.
All of the 2021 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are housed individually inside of protective plastic flips or in multiples of 20 or 500 coins. Multiples of 20 are housed inside of tubes, while multiples of 500 are housed inside of Monster Boxes of 500 with 25 tubes.
On the obverse side of 2021 American Gold Eagle Coins is a depiction of Lady Liberty. This iconic image was created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the US Mint to use on its gold circulation coins. It was featured on the obverse side of the $20 Double Gold Eagle from 1907 to 1933 and depicts Liberty in front-facing relief as she walks toward the viewer with a torch held out in her right hand as she carries an olive branch in her left.
The reverse face of the 2021 1 oz American Gold Eagle includes an image of American bald eagles. This design of a family of American bald eagles was created in 1986 by Miley Busiek and features a male eagle flying over the nest as it carries a branch in its talons.

"Bought an American Gold Eagle Type 2 on a different site, but Thanks to JM Bullion's inventory I was able to purchase an American Gold Eagle Type 1 which the reverse is so majestic with the Eagles flying over the nest."
