The best-selling option in the American Gold Eagle BU coin series is the 1 oz gold coin. Available each year since 1986, the series offers four weights. The 1 oz gold coin has had the highest mintage in most of the release years since 1986, with only the 1/10 oz gold coin ever surpassing it, and that occurred only on 13 occasions in the past 33 years. Today, perfect condition 2021 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you online from JM Bullion.

The 1 oz American Gold Eagle does not hold the record in the series for the highest mintage. That honor belongs to the 1999 1/10 oz Gold Eagle and its mintage of more than 2.75 million coins. However, the 1 oz Gold Eagle does hold the next four highest mintages in the series, marks it set in 1999, 2009, 1998, and 1986, in descending order. Also, as mentioned above, the 1 oz American Gold Eagle has been the highest minted coin in a given year in 20 of the 33 release years dating 1986-2019.
All of the 2021 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins listed here are perfect specimens with a Mint State 70 certification. A coin in MS70 condition has full, original mint luster and no detracting flaws of any kind present. The additional First Strike label means the coins were received for grading within 30 days of the US Mint’s release of the coins to the public.
On the obverse side of 2021 American Gold Eagle Coins is a depiction of Lady Liberty from 1907. Created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the vision of Liberty shown here captures her full figure walking toward the viewer with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left hand. You will also see the US Capitol Building in the distance with a ring of 50 stars around the design element.
The reverse face of the 2021 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins bears an image of a family of American bald eagles. Miley Busiek designed this image of a male eagle flying over the family nest. This is the last date mark during which you will find this design available on the American Gold Eagle.
