The American Gold Eagle is the best-selling gold coin from the United States Mint. Introduced in 1986, the 1 oz gold coin in this series has been available every year and is often the best-selling weight among the four available coins. Today, 2021 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you online at JM Bullion in perfect condition.
Coin Highlights:
American Gold Eagles were issued in two waves in 2021. During the first half of the calendar year, the US Mint issued coins that are known as Type 1, for 2021 only. These are 2021-dated Gold Eagles with the original reverse design from Miley Busiek. After June 2021, the US Mint retired the design in favor of Jennie Norris’ new design on what is now known as the Type 2 coin.
All of these 2021 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available to purchase with plastic slabs from the PCGS and a perfect certification. Mint State 70 coins have full, original mint luster and come with no detractions of any kind. FDOI is a label that stands for First Day of Issue and means the coins were received for grading within 24 hours of release from the mint.
On the obverse of 2021 American Gold Eagles is a portrait of Lady Liberty. One of America’s greatest coin designs of all time, this visual shows Liberty walking toward you with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left hand. The field shows the U.S. Capitol Building at her feet, sun rays framing her figure, and a ring of 50 stars around the design element.
The reverse side of 2021 1 oz Gold Eagle Coins features the original design from 1986. Created by Miley Busiek for the debut of this series, the design shows a bald eagle nest with a female eagle within and her young hatchling nearby. Overhead, a male eagle soars above the nest.
